12/28/06 GOLDEN STRAVINSKY (Stravinsky/Shagadellic), dark bay colt 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders Inc., and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud, won a condition allowance race in Naples, Italy for his eighth career win. Champion sprinter in Italy in 2005, GOLDEN STRAVINSKY is a multiple listed stakes winner and Grade III placed. He is a half-brother to multiple SW GIMME CREDIT ($199,093).

11/18/06 Speedjama (Elusive Quality/Lhotse), chestnut gelding 5, bred by Berkshire Stud, won an allowance race at Aqueduct to increase his earnings to $118,649. Owned by Sovereign Stables and trained by John Terranova, Speedjama  contested the pace, put his rival away in mid-stretch and then hung on for the win.

10/28/06 Fillie by the Bay (Elusive Quality/Give Notice), bay filly 2, bred by Berkshire Stud broke her maiden at Bay Meadows in a six furlong maiden special weight to increase her earnings to over $33,100. Previously twice second she was unplaced in the Del Mar Debutante G-1 before winning this, her fourth start easily.

10/27/06 Admiral Bird (Royal Academy/Sea Puffin), bay colt 2, bred by Berkshire Stud finished third by a nose in the off the turf Makers Mark Bourbon Stakes at Keeneland Racecourse. Making his first main track start going 1 1/16 mile, Admiral Bird increased his earnings to over $83,244 as a multiple listed stakes-placed two year-old. He will now be freshened and readied for his three year-old campaign. He is owned by Dogwood Stable and trained by Christophe Clement.

10/22/06 CHESTORIA (Chester House/RD Fille), dark bay filly 2, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders Inc., and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud won the open Listed Miss Grillo Stakes at Belmont Park going 1 1/8 miles on the turf for her first stakes victory and second win in a row out of three starts (two for two on turf) increasing her earnings to over $76,030. The second foal and second winner out of RD Fille, CHESTORIA will now be pointed for Graded Stakes competition.

10/9/06 Symphony of Psalms (Stravinsky/Merion Miss), bay filly 5, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc. and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud won her third race in a row taking an open allowance race on the turf at Belmont Park. Now a winner of over $120,419, Symphony of Psalms is a half-sister to New York Champions PRIVATE EMBLEM (G2, $783,152) and RHUM ($306,234) and stakes placed Taghkanic and Elisa's Energy.

10/7/06 Admiral Bird (Royal Academy/Sea Puffin), bay colt 2, bred by Berkshire Stud, owned by Dogwood Stable, and trained by Christophe Clement, won an open allowance race going 1 1/16 mile on the turf in front of over 29,000 fans at Keeneland Racecourse. Admiral Bird has won two of his three starts with a nose second in the With Anticipation Stakes at Saratoga and has earnings of over $70,744. He is being pointed for the $125,000 Woodford Reserve Bourbon Stakes at Keeneland on October 27.

10/6/06 Chestoria (Chester House/RD Fille), dark bay filly 2, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc., and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud, broke her maiden by 10 lengths in her second lifetime start and first turf start going 1 1/16 miles at Belmont Park. Breaking sharply from near the outside of the gate, Chestoria got position behind the leaders, stalking them to the head of the stretch before blowing by them on the outside to win pulled up by 10. She has earned $25,405.

9/20/06 GIMME CREDIT (Artax/Shagadellic), dark bay gelding 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc. and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud won his fifth consecutive race and second straight Stake in a row taking the Wanderkin Stakes at one mile on the turf at Belmont Park. GIMME CREDIT raced close up early while in hand and moved through an opening on the rail to get up for the win. Coming off a win at Saratoga in the Equalize Stakes GIMME CREDIT increased his earnings to $189,193. Trained by Tim Hills and owned by Hampshire Farms, GIMME CREDIT is being pointed to the $150,000 Mohawk Stakes on New York Showcase Day, October 21.

9/14/06 Tipperary (Tiznow/Parsec), dark bay colt 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc., broke his maiden in the slop at Belmont going seven furlongs. Owned by Dogwood Stable, Tipperary is trained by Frank Alexander

9/1/06  Admiral Bird (Royal Academy/Sea Puffin), bay colt 2, bred by Berkshire Stud and owned by Dogwood Stable finished second, beaten a nose, in the $75,000 open With Anticipation Stakes at Saratoga. Making only his second start after breaking his maiden impressively in his first Admiral Bird was checked on the first turn, raced four wide on the second and just missed the win after racing greenly in the stretch under what the chart called "carefull handling". Trained by Christophe Clement, Admiral Bird is now a winner and stakes-placed in two starts and has earned over $43,340.

8/25/06 GIMME CREDIT (Artax/Shagadellic), dark bay colt 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc., won his first stakes attempt and fourth race in a row in capturing the open Listed $72,450 Equalize Stakes going a mile on the turf at Saratoga, increasing his earnings to over $146,893. Trained by Tim Hills for Hampshire Farms, GIMME CREDIT is the second foal and second stakes winner out of the Devils Bag mare Shagadellic, and both were bred and raised by Berkshire Stud. GIMME CREDIT is a half-brother to Italian Champion and multiple listed winning, Graded-placed GOLDEN STRAVINSKY (MSW,GSPl $253,089) and is being pointed for the September 17 Ashley T. Cole Stakes at Belmont.
8/24/06 - Symphony of Psalms (Stravinsky/Merion Miss), bay filly 5, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc., won her second straight allowance race, this one at Saratoga going a mile on the turf to increase her earnings to $91,619. She is a half-sister to PRIVATE EMBLEM (MGSW $783,152), RHUM (MSW $306,234), Elisa's Energy (MSpl $167,608) and Taghkanic (Spl $70,585).

8/18/06 - Elisa's Energy (Chester House/Merion Miss), dark bay filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc., finished third in the Yaddo Stakes at Saratoga going 1 1/8 miles on the turf. Breaking from the 10 post position Elisa's Energy increased her earnings to over $167,608 for her second stakes-placing. The Yaddo was won by Berkshire Stud foaled and raised Finlandia, bred and owned by Nyala Farm.
8/10/06 - Admiral Bird (Royal Academy/Sea Puffin), bay colt 2, bred by Berkshire Stud and owned by Dogwood Stable,  broke his maiden at first asking going 1 1/16 mile on the turf to earn $28,800. Last after breaking slowly, he advanced on the far turn going four wide, split horses and got up for the win running the last 3/8 in .35 and the last eight in less than .6 seconds.

7/31/06 Gimme Credit (Artax/Shagadellic), dark bay gelding 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc. and owned by Hampshire Farms won his third race in a row taking a 1 1/16 mile turf allowance race at Saratoga wire to wire by three lengths "with something left". A half-brother to Italian Champion and Stakes winning, Graded-placed GOLDEN STRAVINSKY, Gimme Credit has earned over $103,423 to date.


7/12/06 Symphony of Psalms (Stravinsky/Merion Miss) bay filly 5, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc, won an allowance race at Belmont Park for her second win increasing her earnings to $59,819. Previously a winner in France, she is half-sister to SW PRIVATE EMBLEM ($783,152 G2), SW RHUM ($306,234), Spl Elisa's Energy ($155,970 to date) and Spl Taghkanic. She is the third winner out of Merion Miss at the Belmont spring meet.


7/9/06  Gimme Credit (Artax/Shagadellic), dark bay colt 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc. won his second start in a row at Belmont capturing a 1 1/16 turf allowance race by 4 lengths to increase his earnings to over $71,623. The half-brother to Stakes winner and Graded Stakes-placed GOLDEN STRAVINSKY is trained by Tim Hills.


6/29/06 Yankee Thunder (Thunder Gulch/Merion Miss) bay colt 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders Inc., won his first career start by 3 1/2 lengths going 6 furlongs on the turf at Belmont Park to earn $24,600. Yankee Thunder is a half-brother to PRIVATE EMBLEM ($783,152) G2, RHUM ($306,234), Elisa's Energy ($155,970) to date, and Taghkanic.


6/24/06 Gimme Credit (Artax/Shagadellic) dark bay gelding 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc., and owned by Hampshire Farms broke his maiden at Belmont Park going wire to wire in a mile race on the dirt, increasing his earnings to over $45,223. Gimme Credit is a half-brother to Stakes winner and Graded stakes-placed GOLDEN STRAVINSKY who has earnings over $250,000.


6/01/06 Parisparis (Arch/Caribbean Hideway) bay filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and owned by Coastal Racing LLC, won an allowance race at Belmont by 51/2 lengths for her third win increasing her earnings to over $96,520. Already stakes-placed at three, Parisparis is a half-sister to New York stakes winner FRENCH HIDEWAY($118,879). 


5/24/06 Elisa's Energy (Chester House/Merion Miss), bay filly 4, won an allowance race at Belmont to increase her earnings to over $155,970. Previously stakes-placed Elisa's Energy is a half sister to PRIVATE EMBLEM ($783,152), RHUM ($306,234) and Taghkanic.


5/10/06 Earhart (A.P. Jet/All Engaged), bay filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and owned by Paul and Gilmary Andrews won an allowance race at Belmont going six furlongs to raise her career earnings to $97,410. Winner of three races from nine starts, with three placings Earhart is poised for a summer campaign.


4/18/06 Royal Academy colt out of Sea Puffin, bred by Berkshire Stud, brings $250,000 at Keeneland two-year old in training sale. The colt who was sold as a yearling by Berkshire Stud at Keeneland for $50,000 had the best quarter mile work on the turf going 21 1/5. Consigned by Gabriel Dixon who said "He's got a lot of natural talent and when he was training at the farm you could never get to the bottom of him. He's got an abundance of energy and he's just a really good honest colt. He's straight forward and a pleasure to be around. He's got speed and he can carry it too." He was purchased by Dogwood Stable and is out of Sea Puffin by Mt. Livermore who is a half-sister to Merion Miss, dam of Arkansas derby winner Private Emblem ($783,152).


4/15/06  Elisa's Energy (Chester House/Merion Miss) bay filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeder's Inc., placed third in the Irving Distaff Stake at Lone Star Park over 71/2 furlongs. Elissa's Energy is now an earner of   over $127,170 and is a half-sister to PRIVATE EMBLEM ($783,152), RHUM ($306,234) and Taghkanic ($77,109).

4/10/06 3 NY-bred 2yos clock "bullet" works at first pre-Keeneland sale preview day   by Rab Hagin

Three New York-breds registered "bullet" workouts at Keeneland's Monday "preview day" preceding its sale of two-year-olds in training: Hip Nos. 2 and 45 drilled on turf in 10 1/5 and 21 1/5 for a furlong and quarter-mile, respectively, and Hip No. 221 clocked a main track furlong in 10 1/5. There will be a second preview day the following week on Monday, April 17 at the Lexington, Kentucky-based racing and sales facility, with the one-day select sale scheduled to begin on Tuesday afternoon, April 18.

Hip No. 45, bred by and foaled at Dr. Douglas Koch's Berkshire Stud in Pine Plains and consigned by Gabriel Dixon, Agent, registered the preview day's single best quarter-mile on turf with his 21 1/5 clocking. Also sired by Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Mile winner Royal Academy and out of Berkshire Stud's New York homebred Sea Puffin, by Mt. Livermore, this dark bay colt had been sold at Keeneland's September sale for $50,000. His dam is a half-sister to one of the best New York broodmares of all time, Merion Miss, whose seven winners include New York Thoroughbred Breeders champions Private Emblem (Grade 2 winner of $783,152) and Rhum ($306,234) -- both also bred by Berkshire Stud. This colt is inbred 3 x 4 to Northern Dancer.


3/26/06  Parisparis (Arch/Caribbean Hideway), dark bay filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and owned by Coastal Racing LLC won an allowance race at Aqueduct wire to wire to increase her earnings to $60,050. A half-sister to Berkshire Stud bred stakes winner FRENCH HIDEWAY, Parisparis was stakes placed at three.


2/28/06 Hip# 219 an Unbridled's Song colt out of RHUM sold for $900,000.00 to John Ferguson, acting for Sheik Mohammed, at the Fasig-Tipton Calder two year-old in training sale. RHUM was bred and sold by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc.as a yearling and was an open stakes winner of over $306,000 and champion New York-bred turf filly. This is the first foal out of RHUM who is a daughter of Berkshire Stud broodmare Merion Miss and a half-sister to stakes placed Berkshire Stud broodmare Taghkanic.

2/8/06 Chamonix (Louis Quatorze/Passive Action), bay filly 4, bred and owned by  Berkshire Stud won an allowance race at Aqueduct for her third win in four starts taking her earnings to over $87,400. A half-sister to SW SHERPA GUIDE ($391,919) she is a full sister to SW FAIT ACCOMPLI ($201, 851).


 1/13/06 Menifille Star (Menifee/R D Fille), chestnut filly 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders Inc. and raced by Starmont Stables broke her maiden at Aqueduct winning easily by 3 lengths coming from behind in the six furlong sprint. She is the first foal out of the Dixieland Band mare R D Fille.


 1/8/06 Elisa's Energy (Chester House/Merion Miss), bay filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc and raced by Oak Cliff Stable and Galatyn Stable won an open allowance race at Santa Anita to take her record to 3 wins, 3 seconds and a disqualified first placed third in seven starts with earnings of over $118,920. Elisa's Energy is a half-sister to G2 winner PRIVATE EMBLEM, ($,783,152), SW RHUM, ($306,234) and stakes-placed Taghkanic.


1/2/06 Chamonix (Louis Quatorze/Passive Action), bay filly 4, owned and bred by Berkshire Stud, won an allowance race at Aqueduct going 1 1/16 miles by 5 lengths for her second win in three starts with a second.
