11/9/07 Keep the Peace (Touch Gold/Look Upon), chestnut filly 2, bred by Berkshire Stud, won her first career start at Churchill Downs going six furlongs in an open maiden special weight race. Breaking sharply she cut out fractions of 21.1 and 45.2 on the lead before winning by 5 lengths in a hand ride. Owned by Gary and Mary west and trained by Eddie Kenneally, Keep the Peace has earned $24,552 in her one start.

10/28/07  Sky Ballet (Buddha/All Engaged), gray filly 3, bred by Berkshire Stud, won her first career start at Aqueduct in a maiden special weight race going 6 furlongs on the dirt. Trained by Mike Hushion, Sky Ballet is poised for a big winter campaign in New York.

 



10/20/07 GIMME CREDIT (Artax/Shagadellic), bay gelding 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc., and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud, placed third in the $150,000 Listed Mohawk Stakes at Belmont to increase his earnings to $261,776. Going longer than he prefers and on very soft turf GIMME CREDIT, a half-brother to Italian Champion GOLDEN STRAVINSKY, perservered in the stetch to capture the show spot in a full field of twelve.

 


10/14/07 Admiral Bird (Royal Academy/Sea Puffin), bay gelding 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and raced by Dogwood Stable, finished a close third in the $150,000 Bryan Station Stakes at Keeneland. Increasing his earnings to $138,238 and placing in an open Listed Stake for the third time in his career Admiral Bird closed resolutely in the one mile turf event to just miss the win.

 


8/22/07 Moynahan (Johannesburg/Lakab), chestnut colt 2, was an impressive winner of the famous Convivial Maiden at York Racecourse's Ebor Meeting in England. A son of Berkshire Stud broodmare Lakab, Moynahan is a half-brother to SW's EUROPEAN ROSE and ROANOKE(AUS) and stks.-pl. Nureyev's Girl and to Grand Cause(AUS), a multiple winner this year being pointed to Group Races in Australia. Moynahan is now heading to Group Races in England. Lakab is owned by Berkshire Stud and Waterville Lake Stable and is resident at Berkshire Stud.


8/18/07 Symphony of Psalms (Stravinsky/Merion Miss), became the sixth black-type earner out of her dam, Merion Miss, with a close third in The Yaddo Stakes at Saratoga going 1 1/8 mile on the turf. The half-sister to PRIVATE EMBLEM (G2, $783,152), RHUM, ($304,449), Elisa's Energy ($189,108), and Taghkanic and Just a Nibble has now earned over $134,184/

8/12/07 Posted (Gone West/Give Notice), bay gelding 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and raced by Berkshire Stud and Waterville Lake Stable won his second consecutive race in impressive fashion taking a 7 furlong allowance race at Saratoga by 8 lengths. This was Posted's second win in three starts with a second and increased his earnings to $72,400. He is out of Berkshire Stud bred and raced SW GIVE NOTICE ($107,402) and is a half-brother to stks.-placed Never Give In ($107,380).

8/8/07 Lhotse Quality (Elusive Quality/Lhotse), bay gelding 4, bred by Berkshire Stud, broke his maiden sprinting on the turf at Saratoga in a maiden special weight to increase his earnings to $58,518. He is a half-brother to Phari who is the dam of Berkshire Stud bred and raced SW HIGH PEAKS ($304,449).

7/14/07 Posted (Gone West/Give Notice), bay gelding 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and owned by Waterville Lake Stable and Berkshire Stud broke his maiden in impressive fashion at Belmont Park in his second career start. Breaking on top, Posted drew away from the field running 6 furlongs in 1:09.0 on the way to a 14 length win over 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:15 flat. He recorded a 111 Beyer Figure for the effort.Second in his only other start, after being bothered down the backside, Posted is out of Berkshire Stud bred SW GIVE NOTICE and is a half-brother to Never Give In (Stks.-pl. $107, 380).

7/14/07 Yankee Thunder (Thunder Gulch/Merion Miss), bay gelding 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc. and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud won a mile allowance race on the turf at Belmont Park in his first outing of 2007. Reserved behind horses, he made an outside move sprinting by the field to win going away. Yankee Thunder is a half-brother to PRIVATE EMBLEM (G2, $783,152), RHUM ($306,234), Elisa's Energy ($175,234), Taghkanic ($77,109) and 2007 Stakes-placed 3 yr-old Just a Nibble ($35,300).

7/3/07 Just a Nibble (Distant View/Merion Miss), bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc. and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud became the fifth black-type winner produced by Merion Miss when he finished second, beaten less than a length, in the open Come Summer Stakes at Canterbury Downs going one mile on the turf. Just a Nibble is a half-brother to stakes horses PRIVATE EMBLEM ($783,152), RHUM ($304,449, Elisa's Energy ($175,108), and Taghkanic ($70,505).


6/17/07 GIMME CREDIT (Artax/Shagadellic), dark bay gelding 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc., and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud, won the open 7 furlong turf stake, The Notoriety, at Belmont Park beating horses owned by Juddmonte and the Phipps Stable, who finished second and third. Winning by 3 1/2 lengths in hand, in a time of 1:20.71, just a few ticks off the track record, GIMME CREDIT increased his earnings to over $241,713. This was his second start of his 2007 campaign. He is now a multiple open stakes winner.

4/18/07 The Johannesburg two year-old colt out of Lakab sold as Hip# 68 in the Tattersall's Craven Breeze Up Sale in Newmarket today for 150,000 pounds ($301,000) and was purchased by Hugo Merry Bloodstock of Ireland. He will be trained by Brian Meehan.  Lakab, owned by Berkshire Stud and Waterville Lake Stable foaled a Johar filly on 4/3/07 at Berkshire Stud.

3/30/07  Just a Nibble (Distant View/Merion Miss), bay colt 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeder's, Inc., and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud, broke his maiden in an open maiden race at Oaklawn Park by 4 lengths in a hand ride. Second in his first start at Oaklawn, Just a Nibble was a $190,000 yearling and is a half-brother to Arkansas Derby winner PRIVATE EMBLEM ($783,152), RHUM ($304,449), Elisa's Energy ($175,108), and Taghkanic ($70,505).


3/4/07 Speedjama (Elusive Quality/Lhotse) won an open claiming event at Aqueduct to increase his earnings to over $130,993. A multiple allowance winner, Speedjama is a half-brother to Phari, dam of multiple Stakes winner HIGH PEAKS ($304,449).

2/1/07  Three horses bred, foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud have been nominated for year-end 2006 championship honors in New York. Admiral Bird (Royal Academy/Sea Puffin) has been nominated for champion two year-old colt, CHESTORIA (Chester House/R D Fille) for champion two year-old filly, and GIMME CREDIT (Artax/ Shagadellic) for champion turf male. CHESTORIA and GIMME CREDIT were bred in partnership with Oak Cliff Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc.

1/25/07  The Experimental Free Handicap was released highlighting the top two year-olds of 2006 and the highweighted New York-bred Colt and Filly were both bred by, foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud. Admiral Bird (Royal Academy/Sea Puffin) bred by Berkshire Stud and owned by Dogwood Stable, the highweighted colt, won at Saratoga and Keeneland and was Listed stakes-placed twice at Saratoga and Keeneland. CHESTORIA (Chester House/ R D Fille) bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc., the highweighted filly, broke her maiden by ten, and won the open Listed Miss Grillo, both at Belmont Park.
