12/2/09 Not a Peep (Successful Appeal/Silence Please), dark bay filly 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud won her second race in a row taking a 6 furlong allowance race at Aqueduct in wire to wire fashion. Sent off the favorite after an impressive maiden score, Not a Peep is trained by Tom Bush and owned by Indy Stables and has increased her earnings to over $53,074.


11/26/09 Good Karma (Buddha/RD Fille), gray gelding 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc. and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud, broke his maiden in his third start going one mile on the dirt at Aqueduct. Good Karma is a half-brother to top turf performer CHESTORIA.


11/22/09 Mr. Vegas (Freud/Lhotse), chestnut gelding 2, bred by Berkshire Stud and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud, won an open allowance race at Aqueduct going 1 1/16 miles on the turf. Jumping two conditions and going into open company, Mr. Vegas was an easy winner to increase his earnings to $54,342 with two wins in three starts.


11/21/09 Shine Upon (Congaree/Look Upon), chestnut filly 2, bred and raised by Berkshire Stud, won her first career start by five lengths in a maiden special weight at Aqueduct. Blocked behind horses, the talented filly waited for room before bursting through a gap and drawing off. She is a half-sister to G1-placed Keep the Peace ($323,553).


11/21/09 Island Son (Mutakddim/Coney Island Girl), chestnut gelding 3, bred and raised at Berkshire Stud, won his first career start at Aqueduct going 6.5 furlongs on the dirt. Sitting just off the pace at the top of the stretch the chestnut moved up to the front and opened up a four length lead before cruising home under a hand ride.


11/1/09 Not a Peep (Successful Appeal/Silence Please), dark bay filly 3, bred by and raised at Berkshire Stud, broke her maiden in impressive fashion going 6 furlongs at Aqueduct. Taking command after being challenged early the talented filly opened up by 5 lengths before crusing home in a hand ride. She is the first foal out of Berkshire Stud bred Silence Please by Quiet American who is a half-sister to stakes horses GIVE NOTICE, Royal Ruby, and Look Upon, the dam of GI placed Keep the Peace.


10/25/09 BANROCK and GIMME CREDIT! BANROCK (Go For Gin/It's a Gherkin), bay gelding 6, and GIMME CREDIT (Artax/Shagadellic), dark bay gelding 6, both of whom were foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud in the same year, ran 1-2 in the $150,000 added Mohawk Stakes on the turf on NY Showcase Day. BANROCK, bred by long time Berkshire Stud clients Ruth Bedford and Kate O'Connell's Nyala Farm won the Mohawk to increase his earnings to almost $800,000 and GIMME CREDIT, bred by Berkshire Stud ran a fast closing second to increase his earnings to $348,117. Raised in the same field the two six year-old geldings, Post 10 and 11, were next to each other in the walking ring, post parade, and gate and then ran first and second in the race. A banner day for the 2003 Berkshire Stud foal crop!


9/6/09 Ketubah (Broken Vow/Charivari), bay filly 3, bred by Berkshire Stud, was an impressive allowance race winner at Saratoga going 1 1/16 miles on the turf. Shuffled back to last Ketubah trailed the field until making an inside move on the turn then angling out in the stretch to mow down the field and get up for the win, her second in five starts with two seconds. Now with earnings of $69,000 Ketubah was purchased privately from Berkshire Stud by her trainer, Christophe Clement, for Rayzin the Bar Stable.


8/31/09 Mr. Vegas (Freud/Lhotse), chestnut gelding 2, bred by Berkshire Stud and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud won his first career start taking a 5 1/2 furlong Maiden Special Weight race on the turf at Saratoga. Breaking poorly and shuffled back to eighth, Mr. Vegas was steadied or checked four times according to the chart before splitting horses in deep stretch to win going away. Owned by Andrews T and S Racing and trained by Mike Hushion, Mr. Vegas is out of Lhotse by The Minstrel and is a half-brother to Phari, the dam of top Berkshire Stud bred HIGH PEAKS, a multiple stakes-winner of over $300,000.


8/9/09 Keep the Peace (Touch Gold/Look Upon), chestnut filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud, ran second in the Grade II Honorable Miss Stakes at Saratoga Racecourse in New York. Second in the Grade I Princess Rooney at Calder in her last start, Keep The Peace has now increased her earnings to over $313,014.




8/4/09 CHESTORIA (Chester House/RD Fille), dark bay filly 5, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc., and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud, won another Listed Stake taking the Lake Luzerne Stakes at Saratoga going 1 1/16 miles on the turf. Already a multiple Listed winner and multiple Graded Stakes-placed, CHESTORIA now has earnings of over $333,116 to date.





7/5/09 Ketubah (Broken Vow/Charivari), bay filly 3, broke her maiden by 6 lengths at Belmont Park in her third career start. Going 1 1/16 mile on the turf in a Maiden Special Weight, Ketubah, who had been second in her only previous New York start was an easy in hand winner for trainer Christophe Clement.


 

5/24/09 Keep the Peace (Touch Gold/Look Upon), chestnut filly 4, placed second in the GIII Winning Colors Stake at Churchill Downs for her fifth placing in a Graded race. Blocked late it looked like Keep the Peace would get up for the win, but had to settle for the place spot after a rival drifted out. The placing takes her earnings to $214,414.



5/24/09 Smart Engagement (Smart Strike/All Engaged), bay filly 3, remained undefeated with her second consecutive win in a Belmont turf allowance going 1 1/16 miles. Breaking her maiden at first asking last October, Smart Engagement was given the winter off and returned with this smashing allowance win to keep her record perfect and increase her earnings to over $52,000 in two starts. .

 

3/15/09 Keep the Peace (Touch Gold/Look Upon), chestnut filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud, placed third in the Grade II Inside Information Stakes at Gulfstream Park. Making only her second start after a nine month layoff, Keep the Peace was bested only by top sprinters Game Face and Any Limit.



2/21/09 Keep The Peace (Touch Gold/Look Upon), chestnut filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud, won an open allowance race at Gulfstream in her first 2009 start and first start since finishing second in the Grade III Dogwood Stakes at Churchill in May. Also second in the Grade II Forward Gal Stakes and the Grade II LaTroienne Stakes, Keep The Peace now has earnings over $169,050 in seven starts. She is a daughter of Berkshire Stud bred and raced Look Upon by Carson City who was stakes placed during her racing career and also was featured as the horse "Pie-O-My" in several episodes of the HBO series "The Sopranos"
