12/8/12 BRIGAND (Flatter/Silence Please), dark bay colt 3, bred by Berkshire Stud , won the Listed $125,000 City of Laurel Stakes at Laurel Park for his first stakes win and fourth lifetime win in 12 starts. Now with earnings over $288,820, BRIGAND is also  GradeII-placed and is trained by Bob Baffert. On the lead all the way in the 7 furlong dirt event, BRIGAND opened up a three length lead in mid-stretch before being hand ridden to a one length win






10/20/12  HESSONITE (Freud/Lakab), chestnut filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Waterville Lake Stable and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud increased her career earnings to over $713,310 winning the Ticonderoga Stakes at Belmont Park for the second year in a row. HESSONITE was allowed to settle in the rear of the pack until the stretch when she exploded through an opening to take command and draw off in a hand ride to win by four lengths. She is expected to race one more time in 2012 before being freshened for a 2013 campaign

10/4/12 Brigand (Flatter/Silence Please), dark bay colt 3, bred by Berkshire Stud won his second consecutive race taking a dirt mile allowance on a sloppy track by 5 lengths to increase his career earnings to over $213,820. Already multiple G2 placed, Brigand looks poised to return to stakes company after this easy win. Brigand is trained by Bob Baffert and was ridden by Ramon Dominquez.





9/9/12  HESSONITE (Freud/Lakab), chestnut filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Waterville Lake Stable and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud, won her third consecutive Stake race taking the Hettinger at Belmont by an easy six lengths to increase her earnings to over $590,310. Allowed to settle at the back of the field by Ramon Dominguez, HESSONITE moved up the inside on the turn when asked, made the lead at the head of the stretch and then drew off easily under a hand ride to open up six at the wire. The New York-bred Champion Turf Filly of 2011 is showing the form that achieved that award. She makes her next start in the GI Flower Bowl at Belmont Park.





8/29/12  GIMME CREDIT (Artax/Shagadellic), bay gelding 9, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc. and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud won a claiming race at Saratoga, after finishing close seconds in allowance races twice previously during the Saratoga meet, to increase his career earnings to over $616,721. The ultra-consistent GIMME CREDIT, a multiple Listed stakes winner, continues to be competitive in allowance company every time they ask him.






8/25/12  Brigand (Flatter/Silence Please), dark bay colt 3, bred by Berkshire Stud, won an Allowance race at Saratoga by 3 1/2 lengths to increase his career earnings to over $177, 220. Already G2 stakes-placed Brigand sat behind the leaders in the seven furlong dirt test until the head of the lane and drew off to the comfortable win while being eased up at the wire. He is trained by Bob Baffert.





8/17/12  HESSONITE (Freud/Lakab), chestnut filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Waterville Lake Stables and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud, increased her career earnings to over $500,000 with an emphatic win in the Yaddo Stakes at Saratoga Racecourse going 1 1/16 mile on firm turf. The Champion New York-bred Turf Filly of last year was winning her second stake race of the Saratoga meet after capturing the Irish Linnet three weeks ago. Owned by Bill Punk and Phil DiLeo, HESSONITE is trained by David Donk. She is being pointed toward the Graded Noble Damsel States at Belmont Park in the fall.


7/27/12  HESSONITE (Freud/Lakab), chestnut filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Waterville Lake Stable and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud won the Irish Linnet Stakes at Saratoga to increase her earnings to $410,310. Reserved off the pace early over the soft going, HESSONITE moved close to the leaders around the turn and then drew off at the top of the lane when asked to win by over five lengths. She is the 2011 Champion Turf Filly in New York.

7/3/12  HESSONITE (Freud/Lakab), chestnut filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Waterville Lake Stable and foaled, raised, and sold by Berkshire Stud finished a strong closing second in the Grade III James Penny Memorial at Parx Racetrack. Reserved off the pace, as is her style, HESSONITE made a late run to just miss in this Grade III contest.




6/24/12  Brigand (Flatter/Silence Please), dark bay colt 3, bred by Berkshire Stud and already Grade II stakes-placed finished second in the Mike Lee Stakes at Belmont to increase his earnings to over $140,020. Trained by Bob Baffert, Brigand looks to become one of the premier sprinters in America this fall.



6/9/12 MR. VEGAS (Freud/Lhotse), chestnut gelding 5, bred by Berkshire Stud finished a close second, after leading all the way, in the Sea O' Erin Stakes at Arlington Park Racetrack to increase his earnings to over $318,173. Already a Group III winner and Group II placed in 2012 MR. VEGAS is a leading candidate for NY-bred Turf Horse of 2012.


5/27/12 HESSONITE (Freud/Lakab), chestnut filly 4, bred by Berkshire Stud and Waterville Lake Stable and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud finished second in the Mt. Vernon Stakes at Belmont Park going 1 mile on the turf. Trapped early HESSONITE came flying at the end to just miss the victory and increased her earnings to over $300,310. HESSONITE was named NY-bred Turf Filly of 2011.


4/21/12 Brigand (Flatter/Silence Please), bay colt 3, bred by Berkshire Stud, finished a close second in the Grade II Jerome at Aqueduct going a one-turn mile on the dirt. Increasing his earnings to over $113,600 Brigand placed for the second time in a Graded stake after finishing second in the Hollywood Juvenile, Grade III, as a two year-old. He is trained by Bob Baffert.


4/13/12 Dreaming of Cara (North Light/Sheboygan), bay filly 3, bred by Berkshire Stud, won her third consecutive race taking a 1 1/16 mile Allowance race on the turf at Aqueduct by daylight to increase her career earnings to over $130,915 early in her three year-old year. Already an Allowance winner on the dirt, the first foal out of Sheboygan by Quiet American, broke awkwardly from the outside stall in the gate but recovered to track the leaders until the stretch, then blew by them for the easy win. Dreaming of Cara was the only three year-old filly in the race and beat older fillies for the win.


3/25/12 Good Karma (Buddha/RD Fille), bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc. and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud won an Allowance race at Aqueduct on the dirt for his second win of the year. Good Karma is a multiple winner of over $192,957.



3/4/12 Dreaming of Cara (North Light/Sheboygan), bay filly 3, bred by Berkshire Stud, won her second consecutive race taking a mile and seventy yard Allowance race at Aqueduct by 3 1/2 lengths against the track bias. Coming four wide from next to last around the far turn, Dreaming of Cara blew by the field for the easy win upping her career earnings to over $95,515.


2/25/12 MR.VEGAS (Freud/Lhotse), chestnut gelding 5, bred by Berkshire Stud, was beaten a short head in the Grade III Fairgrounds Handicap attempting to win his fourth race in a row over the Fairgrounds turf. Winner of the Grade III Colonel Bradley last out, Mr. Vegas led the entire race and was just nipped at the wire by Graded winner Smart Bid in a desperate finish. Now with earnings over $285,331 and a Graded stakes-winner, Mr. Vegas is owned by Andrews T and S Racing and trained by Richie Sherer.


2/9/12 Dreaming of Cara (North Light/Sheboygan), a bay filly, bred by Berkshire Stud, broke her maiden in her second start as a three year-old in a Maiden Special Weight going a mile and seventy yards at Aqueduct. Sent off at less than even money after a strong second place finish in a similar race in January, Dreaming of Cara sat just off the pace until the stretch and then made a strong rail move under jockey Ramon Dominquez to draw away at the finish for her first victory. Dreaming of Cara has now earned $61,315 and is a fifth generation Berkshire Stud offspring being the first foal out of Berkshire bred Sheboygan, who is out of Berkshire bred and raced Taghkanic, who is out of Berkshire bred Merion Miss, who is out of Berkshire raced Curlew.


2/2/12 Brigand (Flatter/Silence Please), bay colt 3, has been weighted on the Experimental Free Handicap of 2011 as one of the best two year-olds of 2011. Winner of his first outing at Hollywood Park and then runner-up in the Hollywood Juvenile Championship, GIII, Brigand is currently working steadily towards his three year-old debut. He is the only New York-bred two year-old to be weighted on the Experimental free handicap of 2011.


1/21/12 MR. VEGAS (Freud/Lhotse), chestnut gelding 5, won his third race in a row at The Fairgrounds and increased his career earnings to over $260,331 taking the GradeIII Colonel Bradley on the turf. Leading from gate to wire MR. VEGAS dictated the pace throughout and then sprinted away in the stretch for the easy win in his first Graded effort. Now the winner of seven races in his 21 race career, MR.VEGAS is a son of the of Berkshire Stud homebred mare Lhotse, daughter of SW BHARAL, who raced for Berkshire Stud. MR. VEGAS is being pointed for a summer Graded stakes campaign and is owned by Andrews T and S Racing.
