9/8/13 Ocala Jim (E. Dubai/Merion Miss), bay gelding 3, bred by Berkshire Stud, broke his maiden in a Belmont Park maiden special weight going 1 1/16th mile on the turf to increase his career earnings to $54,680. Ocala Jim is a half-brother to eleven other winners and six stakes horses out of the great mare Merion Miss by Halo. Merion Miss foaled a colt by Henrythenavigator in 2013 and is back in foal for 2014!

8/3/13  GIMME CREDIT (Artax/Shagadellic), dk.b. gelding 10, bred by Berkshire Stud and Oak Cliff Breeders, Inc. and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud won an allowance race at Saratoga to increase his career earnings to over $743,543. Coming wide with his patented late run, GIMME CREDIT, nailed the leaders just before the wire to record his fourth career win at Saratoga, along with two seconds in ten lifetime starts. A multiple stakes winner earlier in his career, GIMME CREDIT is still performing well at age ten.

7/19/13 HESSONITE and Dreaming of Cara finish first and third in the first Stake of the 150th Saratoga Meeting! HESSONITE (Freud/Lakab), chestnut mare 5, bred by Berkshire Stud and Waterville Lake Stable and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud won the $100,000 On the Bus Stakes at Saratoga to increase her career earnings to over $879,644. The two time New York-bred Champion Turf Mare was held in reserve at the back of the field until reaching the stretch then swung four wide and sprinted to the lead for the victory. Dreaming of Cara (North Light/Sheboygan), dark bay filly, bred foaled and raised by Berkshire Stud, laid close to the early pace until the stretch where she was forced to drop back because of traffic problems but then re-rallied to secure the show position and her first stakes-placing. She now has earnings of over $170,785.

5/4/13  HESSONITE (Freud/Lakab), chestnut filly 5, bred by Berkshire Stud and Waterville Lake Stable and foaled and raised at Berkshire Stud, opened her five year-old campaign with a scintillating win in the Grade III Beaugay at Belmont Park going 1 1/16 miles on the turf. Trapped down on the rail with no way to get through HESSONITE was finally able to be wheeled out to the five path inside the sixteenth pole and was able to accelerate to pass the leaders for a 3/4 length victory. Now with career earnings over $803,310 she is being pointed for the Grade II Sheepshead Bay Stakes at Belmont Park later this month.

4/6/13 GIMME CREDIT (Artax/Shagadellic), dark bay gelding 10, won an allowance race at Aqueduct by 5 lengths going 1 1/16 mile on the turf to increase his career earnings to over $677,683. Running with his typical style under frequent pilot Javier Castellano, GIMME CREDIT dropped back early, got to the rail, made a middle move going into the turn, and then exploded through a hole at the top of the stretch and then drew off for an easy win.

1/20/13 BRIGAND (Flatter/Silence Please), bay colt 4, bred by Berkshire Stud, won his first start of 2013 and his second stakes win in a row capturing the Turnofthecentury Stakes at Aqueduct going a mile on the dirt.  In this, his first two-turn start, BRIGAND quickly assumed the lead and while pressured until the head of the stretch, when asked he opened up three and maintained that advantage in a hand ride to the wire. Now a multiple stakes winner and Graded 2 stakes-placed earner of over $333,820, BRIGAND is being pointed to the G2 General George Stakes in February.
